HIGH ARM FAMILY

Bradbury and Co used the same basic manual for the Letter'S', Family (No1), Medium (No2) and Family High Arm transverse shuttle machine. There were new titles and minor changes to the text but the basic diagrams and instructions remained the same, even when the High Arm Transverse Shuttle machine was introduced the Company did not bother to change the cover illustration from a fiddle bed machine.
The principle exception to this was the tension adjustment, on the earlier models the tension is regulated by a screw on the face plate above the tension discs. On the later High Arm machine it was moved next to the needlebar as shown on the relevant page below.
